Heat pumps are a fast-growing, but also competitive market. We have designed a heat pump control board that is simple yet effective, so our client could go to market fast while keeping cost down.
The control board is central to a heat pump. It monitors temperature, opens and closes valves, and drives the compressor and fan. It needs to be very reliable as heat pumps need to be able to operate 24/7. And it is also one of the most expensive electronic parts of the system.
To get to a simple yet effective design requires following our design process thoroughly. It starts with getting requirements crisp, deriving the related specifications and documenting these in a specification document. Then carefully trading design options to come to the best concept. Getting this basis right has been crucial.
